Han estat les dues principals condicions que ha posat el PP per abstenir-se en la votació

L’Ajuntament de Maó ha aprovat el Pla Econòmic Financer per als exercicis 2025 i 2026 en un ple urgent i extraordinari organitzat divendres capvespre. L’equip de govern hi estava obligat per haver incomplert l’estabilitat pressupostària.
Durant el ple s’ha recordat que si no s’aprovava aquest pla d’ajust seria l’Estat el que intervindria per ordenar les despeses a retallar. L’obligació d’executar-lo es deriva del fet d’haver ingressat 440.000 euros menys dels previstos l’any passat. Pel que fa als ajustaments aprovats, n’hi ha de gestió interna, com un pla plurianual d’inversions o major control de despeses extres no pressupostades. Però també la modificació dels preus públics d’escoles municipals i del poliesportiu. Una altra implica vendre alguns terrenys municipals de sòl industrial.
Però per aprovar el Pla Econòmic Financer, després de no aconseguir-ho en un ple celebrat a principis d’agost pel vot en contra del Grup Popular, els socialistes han hagut de pactar l’abstenció del PP: Els populars l’han acceptada a canvi de rebaixar en dues centèsimes el tipus de l’IBI (una l’any que ve i l’altra el 2027) i també el rebut de l’aigua en un 50% en el tram de primera necessitat, sempre que s’actualitzin les tarifes a majors consumidors. La tercera condició ha estat la compareixença trimestral del batle perquè exposi l’evolució del pla i de les finances municipals.
