França també prendrà mesures contra la pandèmia del coronavirus. Avui dilluns, el president francès, Emmanuel Macron, ha anunciat que s’ajorna la segona volta de les eleccions municipals, prevista per a aquest diumenge, encara que no ha precisat fins quan.
En una declaració televisada a la nació, el cap de l’Estat ha afegit que a partir d’aquest dimarts es reforçaran les mesures per a reduir els desplaçaments a allò estrictament necessari durant almenys quinze dies.
“Estem en guerra, en una guerra sanitària. És cert que no lluitem ni contra un exèrcit ni contra una nació, però l’enemic és aquí, invisible i evasiu, i avança. Això requereix la nostra mobilització general”, ha destacat Macron.

A partir d’aquest dimarts al migdia, ja no es permetran les reunions familiars ni d’amics i es restringiran els desplaçaments només per motius laborals, mèdics o per a comprar aliments. La mobilització també serà econòmica: segons Macron, es crearà un Fons de Solidaritat per a ajudar els empresaris i es posarà en marxa un “dispositiu excepcional” d’ajornament dels càrrecs socials i fiscals, a més d’una garantia de l’Estat de 300.000 milions d’euros per als préstecs bancaris contrets per les petites empreses. “Cap empresa serà abandonada al risc de fallida”, ha promés Macron en la seva compareixença.
El president ha anunciat també el desplegament en els pròxims dies d’un hospital militar de campanya a la regió oriental d’Alsàcia i ha previst que l’Exèrcit aporti la seva ajuda per a traslladar als malalts de les zones més afectades per a reduir la congestió dels hospitals.
Aquest dimecres, es presentarà en Consell de Ministres francés un projecte de llei que permeti al Govern de Macron una ràpida resposta a l’actual urgència, per decret en cas que sigui necessari, i les reformes en marxa, inclosa la de les pensions, han estat suspeses fins a una altra ordre. “Hem d’estar a l’altura de les circumstàncies individual i col·lectivament”, ha dit Macron, que ha assegurat que hi haurà sancions per als ciutadans que no respectin les consignes de limitar tot desplaçament que no sigui per motiu sanitari, laboral o d’aliments.

El primer ministre britànic, Boris Johnson, ha reaccionat a la pandèmia global i ha demanat avui dilluns horabaixa als residents britànics que evitin qualsevol contacte social que no sigui essencial. Aquesta recomanació l’ha feta per primera vegada d’ençà que ha començat la crisi del virus.
Sobretot l’ha dirigida a les persones majors de 70 anys, a aquelles que tenen problemes previs de salut i als habitants de la ciutat de Londres, on l’expansió està més avançada. Tot i això, i contràriament a allò que fan els països més afectats, no ha decretat el tancament d’escoles ni de comerços.
