10350Pedro Bermúdez, conegut artísticament com Azuquita, ha mort aquest divendres a Palma a 47 anys. Nascut a València l’any 1978, tot i que es va criar al barri de Son Gotleu de Palma, va ser una figura musical que va revolucionar la indústria dels anys noranta, amb el productor musical Joan Bibiloni, com a creador de l’anomenat ‘rumbakalao’, l’estil que fusionava rumba amb la música electrònica de la Ruta del Bakalao, i que ho va fer, precisament, versionant Ximo Bayo, ‘Así me gusta a mí’ o, com popularment es va arribar a dir, l”Achikitaun’. L’èxit del tema fou internacional, la qual cosa el va dur a fer una col·laboració amb la cantant Celia Cruz en la cançó ‘El tostadero’.
La vetla tindrà lloc aquest dissabte al tanatori de Son Valentí, a Palma. La seva darrera aparició fou en una col·laboració amb els cantants Cobra i Deikirsy, fent una versió de l”Achikitaun’. En unes imatges prèvies del Cobra, explicant la producció del videoclip, rodat a Mallorca, explica que Pedro patia un càncer i que estava amb tractament de quimioteràpia.
A IB3 Televisió, Azuquita va trepitjar el plató d’un recent estrenat Ara Anam, a l’abril del 2024, després de més de 25 anys sense fer-ho. I va fer una actuació al plató, amb la veu en directe, del seu famós tema, a més d’una petita versió juntament amb el presentador Pere Sánchez. En l’entrevista, també va sortir Joan Bibiloni, que al programa En Companyia, d’IB3 Televisió, al juliol de 2017, dedicat al productor musical, també apareix Azuquita explicant les vivències dels seus inicis musicals amb el compositor mallorquí.
