Es preveu que la nova unitat, anomenada VioGen, comenci a funcionar a partir del pròxim mes d'abril

La Policia Local d’Eivissa espera poder disposar a partir del pròxim mes d’abril d’una nova unitat anomenada VioGen per al seguiment i protecció de les víctimes de violència de gènere. 12 policies es formen aquests dies a l’illa i tres d’ells passaran a formar part d’aquesta nova unitat.
Actualment, la Policia Local d’Eivissa només participa en una primera intervenció, si els telefonen denunciant un cas de violència de gènere o si es produeix a la via pública. Del seguiment i protecció de les víctimes, se n’encarrega la Policia Nacional; però, una vegada que acabi la formació i es conformi la unitat, sumaran esforços.
Durant la formació adquireixen eines jurídiques i també habilitats psicològiques per entrevistar la víctima, i seguint els protocols del programa VioGen, determinar quin serà el seu nivell de risc per activar les mesures de protecció adients.
La nova unitat, que podria començar a funcionar el pròxim mes d’abril, treballarà en coordinació amb la Policia Nacional i la Guàrdia Civil.
